چکیده

In this paper we derive the equations for the continuous ideal magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) spectrum of twodimensional coronal loops, including gravity and expansion, in general curvilinear coordinates. The equations clearly show the coupling between Alfvén and slow magnetosonic continuum waves when both pressure and geodesic curvature of the magnetic field lines are present. Gravity always gives rise to Alfvén-slow mode coupling when the magnetic field is twisted. Numerical calculations show that the coupling of Alfvén and slow magnetosonic continuum waves can be strong, especially for Alfvén-like continuum waves, when the magnetic flux concentration near the bases of flux tubes is taken into account. Amplitude ratios of the parallel and perpendicular displacement components of 0.4 were obtained for concentration of the flux with a factor of 4. Gravity has less effect on the coupling of Alfvén and slow magnetosonic continuum waves than the concentration offluxbut it has a large influence on the low frequency slow magnetosonic-like continuum branches.

A Model for Patchy Reconnection in Three Dimensions

We show, theoretically and via MHD simulations, how a short burst of reconnection localized in three dimensions on a one-dimensional current sheet creates a pair of reconnected flux tubes. We focus on the post-reconnection evolution of these flux tubes, studying their velocities and shapes. We find that slow-mode shocks propagate along these reconnected flux tubes, releasing magnetic energy as ...

Self-consistent Coronal Heating and Solar Wind Acceleration from Anisotropic Magnetohydrodynamic Turbulence

We present a series of models for the plasma properties along open magnetic flux tubes rooted in solar coronal holes, streamers, and active regions. These models represent the first self-consistent solutions that combine: (1) chromospheric heating driven by an empirically guided acoustic wave spectrum, (2) coronal heating from Alfvén waves that have been partially reflected, then damped by anis...

Identification and tracking of solar coronal loops is key to understanding solar magnetic field. Slow and fast Magnetohydrodynamic oscillation of tracked loops from sequence 171Å extreme ultra – violet images was detected. The method was demonstrated using 171Å images taken by SDO/AIA on 14 August 2010 and 20 January 2012. Two dimensional continuous wavelet transform (CWT) was used to clarify ...

X-ray Emissions from Three-dimensional Magnetohydrodynamic Coronal Accretion Flows

We calculate the radiation spectrum and its time variability of the black hole accretion disk-corona system based on the three-dimensional magnetohydrodynamic simulation. In explaining the spectral properties of active galactic nuclei (AGNs), it is often assumed that they consist of a geometrically thin, optically thick disk and hot, optically thin corona surrounding the thin disk. As for a mod...

On Analysis of Dual Spacecraft Stereoscopic Observations to Determine the Three-dimensional Morphology and Plasma Properties of Solar Coronal Flux Tubes

By using two spacecraft equipped with multi-bandpass X-ray telescopes, it is possible to obtain direct 3-dimensional morphology of coronal structures which is essential for understanding the energetics and dynamics of the solar atmosphere. X-ray observations taken only in orbit about the Earth are inadequate to fully resolve the 3-dimensional nature of the solar corona. These Earth-orbit observ...
